Open Access and Licence

Babble is an open access journal: all published articles may be read, downloaded and shared, without charge or registration, from the moment of publication. Babble adopts the definition of open access of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

Licence

Articles published in Babble are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence. The licence permits the reproduction, distribution and adaptation of an article in any medium for non-commercial purposes, provided that the original work is properly cited.

Images of artworks and other third-party material reproduced in the articles are not covered by this licence; their use requires the permission of the rights holders.

Copyright

Authors retain the copyright of their articles. They grant Babble the right of first publication and agree to the publication of the article under the CC BY-NC 4.0 licence. When the article is republished elsewhere, its first publication in Babble is acknowledged.

Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit the submitted version (preprint), the accepted version and the published version of their articles in institutional or subject repositories and on personal websites, without embargo, giving the publication details of the article in Babble and a link to it.

Archiving

Articles published in Babble are kept on the journal’s server at permanent addresses, and their metadata can be harvested through the OAI-PMH protocol. Once it has its ISSN, the journal will preserve its published content in a distributed, LOCKSS-based archive through the PKP Preservation Network.

Fees and Advertising

The journal charges authors no fees of any kind, including article processing charges (APCs), for submission, review or publication. Babble carries no advertising.
