About the Journal

The Journal of Discourse, Culture & Society (JDCS) is an international, double-blind peer reviewed, diamond open-access journal at the intersection of language, discourse, and social life. It publishes research on how discourse — spoken, written, multimodal, and digital — shapes and is shaped by cultural practices, social structures, identities, and relations of power. The journal is interdisciplinary by design and is not tied to any single national or linguistic tradition. All articles are published under a CC BY 4.0 license with no fees to authors or readers.


The Journal of Discourse, Culture & Society (JDCS) is an international, peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal publishing research at the intersection of language, discourse, and social life. The journal examines how discourse — spoken, written, multimodal, and digital — shapes and is shaped by cultural practices, social structures, identities, and relations of power.

JDCS is interdisciplinary by design, welcoming contributions from across the humanities and social sciences. Its scope spans discourse analysis and critical discourse analysis, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, conversation analysis, semiotics, intercultural communication, multilingualism, media discourse, language policy, and related fields. All articles undergo double-anonymized peer review and are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license, with authors retaining copyright. As a diamond open-access journal, JDCS charges no fees to authors or readers: there are no submission, processing, or publication charges. The journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to the long-term digital preservation of its content. JDCS is published by Artsürem, Türkiye.
