Publication Ethics
The Journal of Discourse, Culture & Society (JDCS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the act of publishing — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to observe these standards.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal. All sources must be appropriately cited, and any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification is unacceptable. All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the work and must consent to its submission. Conflicts of interest and sources of funding must be disclosed. Research involving human participants must comply with relevant ethical standards and report appropriate approvals and informed consent.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential, provide objective and constructive assessments, and declare any competing interests. Reviewers should alert the editors to any substantial similarity between a manuscript under review and other published work.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on intellectual merit, without regard to the authors' race, gender, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation. Editors are responsible for the integrity of the double-anonymized review process and for handling allegations of misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Misconduct and Corrections
Allegations of misconduct will be investigated following COPE flowcharts. Where necessary, the journal will publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions. Submissions are screened for plagiarism prior to review.
