Artificial Intelligence Policy

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  • Authors declare the AI tools they used for text generation, translation, language editing, coding or data analysis, giving the name of the tool and the purpose of its use, under the heading "AI Use Statement". Routine uses such as spell-checking need not be declared.
  • In studies where AI-generated data (e.g., model outputs) are the object of research, the model name, version, date of use and prompts are shared in a supplementary file.
  • Reviewers and editors may not upload the manuscript under review, or any part of it, to AI tools; reviewer reports may not be generated with AI.
  • Authors are responsible in all cases for the accuracy of the content and the authenticity of the sources. A manuscript found to cite a non-existent source is desk-rejected.

This policy is part of the journal's Publication Ethics.
