  • Faz

    A Journal of Theoretical Linguistics for Early-Career Researchers

    One structure. One question. One node. At most 3,000 words. Peer-reviewed. Open access. Faz is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes, in the format of short articles, the work of graduate students and other early-career researchers in theoretical linguistics. Faz is published under the auspices of the Department of Linguistics at İstanbul Medeniyet University and is run by students: its editorial board consists of graduate students and other early-career researchers and works under the guidance of an Advisory Board of academics. Faz thus offers early-career researchers not only the opportunity to publish a first article, but also the opportunity to experience every stage of academic publishing, namely authorship, reviewing and editing, within a rigorous framework.

    The format of Faz serves this purpose. Each article addresses a single theoretical question and runs to at most 3,000 words; the limit leads the researcher to define the problem clearly and to argue for the proposal directly. Faz shares this principle of micro-format with its sibling publication, Dilim.

    The name of the journal draws on two references. In minimalist syntax, the phase is one of the basic units of sentence derivation, the point at which computation is cyclically transferred and beyond which it cannot return (the Phase Impenetrability Condition; Chomsky 2000). A phase is also a stage of development, one through which a young researcher passes on the way to academic maturity. Faz enables early-career researchers to complete their first experience of academic publication, that first phase, within a rigorous framework.

    Nesne Journal of Psychology is an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access academic journal that has been published since 2013. Published biannually (June and December) by Artsürem Publishing, the journal hosts original empirical research and comprehensive review articles across all sub-disciplines of psychology. By adhering to international academic standards and publication ethics, Nesne embraces the fundamental mission of enhancing the contributions of young scholars to the psychology literature.

    The Turkish Journal of Psycholinguistics (TJPL) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing original research on how language is acquired, represented, produced, comprehended, and lost. Open to authors worldwide, it welcomes experimental, computational, theoretical, and methodological contributions on any language, with a standing commitment to cross-linguistic breadth and methodological rigour.

    The Journal of Discourse, Culture & Society (JDCS) is an international, double-blind peer reviewed, diamond open-access journal at the intersection of language, discourse, and social life. It publishes research on how discourse — spoken, written, multimodal, and digital — shapes and is shaped by cultural practices, social structures, identities, and relations of power. The journal is interdisciplinary by design and is not tied to any single national or linguistic tradition. All articles are published under a CC BY 4.0 license with no fees to authors or readers.
